ABOUT YISD

As new industries take shape to meet the evolving needs of mankind, there is a growing need for a workforce with different skill sets. Pharma, Hospitality, Food & Food Processing, Retail and Logistics, are just some of those sectors, where the need for this skilled workforce is fast growing.
To cater to these fields that have an immense potential to generate employment and to give the underprivileged youth a new platform to pursue their ambitions, Yashaswi Group started the Yashaswi Institute of Skill Development.
Similar in its philosophy to YIT, Yashaswi Institute of Skill Development (YISD) aims to train the youth in specific skill sets to cater to specific manpower needs in the above-mentioned sectors.

LEARN AND EARN

YISD has launched a skill development scheme that has been recognised as the Best Skill Development Initiative in India by the National Skill Development Corporation. Called the Learn & Earn Scheme (similar to the Learn & Earn run by YIT), it is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.
Students who qualify certain eligibility criteria are given on-the-job training with a specific industry partner. While students are paid stipends, at the end of the training module, the industry gets skilled professionals for the Food & Food Processing, Pharma, Logistics and Hospitality segments.
In 2010, the Government of Maharashtra approved Learn & Earn as India’s first skilling scheme initiated by a private institute.

BENEFITS OF THE INDUSRTY

Skilled technicians can be developed as per the industry requirements and its own work culture.

To have longevity in retaining on roll operatives/trainee (up to 4 years).

ELIGIBILITY CRIETERIA FOR STUDENTS

Qualification : Min. SSC (Pass). HSC, ITI, MCVC (Pass or Failed

Age : 18 to 26 years

Written Test : Min 50% Passing

Interview : Conducted by concerned organization.

SELECTION AND TRAINING PROCEDURE

YIT and industry will jointly select SSC/HSC/ITI/MCVC students through well designed selection process.

Selected students are deputed to the concerned organization for on the job training.

Students will undergo for the class room training inside the factory premises.

Students will undergo for the practical training in AICTE approved Poly Technique College on weekly off.

ROLE OF THE INDUSTRY FOR ON THE JOB TRAINING

To impart on the job training to the students under Learn & Earn scheme.

To pay minimum stipend of Rs.7000/- & Rs. 8000/- respectively for Non ITI & ITI students with increases of Rs. 500/- per year.

To provide Insurance Coverage, Uniform & Shoes. Canteen & Transport facility along with all the education cost of the student.
